Indulge your sweet tooth with this luscious Chocolate Black Forest Cake infused with the richness of dark chocolate and the delightful sweetness of honey and cherry. This recipe will take you to the moon, so fasten your seat belts and let your taste buds feel something out of world.

 

Ingredients:

For the Chocolate Cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1¾ cups granulated sugar

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

½ cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

 

For the Cherry Filling:

 

2 cups pitted and halved fresh cherries (or canned cherry pie filling)

½ cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Honey Whipped Cream:

2 cups heavy whipping cream

½ cup honey

1 teaspoon of pure vanilla (extract Dark chocolate shavings or curls) and Fresh cherries with stems (for decoration)

 Instructions for preparation 






Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Gradually add boiling water, mixing continuously. The batter will be thin, but that's okay.

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

 

Prepare the Cherry Filling:

 In a saucepan, combine fresh cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.

Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and let it cool.


 

For extra beauty Prepare the Honey Whipped Cream:

 In a chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Gently fold in honey and vanilla extract until well combined.




 

Assemble the Cake:

 Once the chocolate cakes are completely cooled, level the tops if necessary.

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of honey whipped cream over the cake.

Spoon half of the cherry filling on top of the whipped cream.

Place the second cake layer on top and repeat the process with whipped cream and remaining cherry filling

Use the remaining whipped cream to frost the sides and top of the cake.

 


Garnish:

Decorate the top of the cake with dark chocolate shavings or curls.

Place fresh cherries on top for a beautiful finishing touch.

 

Chill and Serve:

 Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld. for more invite friends so they can take a part in journey
